The CSI-2 Rx driver (j721e-csi2rx) has a limitation of frame width being a multiple of 16 bytes:

      https://git.ti.com/cgit/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel/tree/drivers/media/platform/ti/j721e-csi2rx/j721e-csi2rx.c?h=ti-linux-6.12.y#n370

However, there is no such limitation in HW IP. Some applications such as lidar have frame widths that are not a multiple of 16 bytes. Therefore, this limitation shall be removed from CSI-2 Rx driver.
