The automatic update of the XDS110 firmware by the debugger will fail if the user is using a VM. This is because the update process requires a reset of the XDS110 which will then cause the VM to lose connection to the XDS110 (which is not then automatically restored). This results in a update failure.

We should add a note in the update message dialog where the user is warned against attempting the update when running from a VM.
