UniFlash CLI: dslite does not return on failure when programming a Cortex M3

When using UniFlash CLI, dslite does not return on failure when programming Cortex M3 of a Concerto (F28M35). In Windows, CTRL+C can be used to force termination of the process. However, this will impact automation environments that depend on the call returning so that the error can be handled.

My suspicion is that there is some issue with the flash dll since other errors (such as failed target connection) will not block.

This issue appears to be specific to M3 (so far). I was not able to reproduce on 28x or an M4 connectivity device.
